Songs for Kashia - Beginnings

Sunday 21 December 2026 (Venue TBC)

On what would have been Kashia's 31st birthday.

Songs for Kashia brings together local Canberra artists to perform their own interpretations of Kashia's original music, her words and melodies, carried in new voices. Alongside these reimaginings, the night will feature Kashia's own recordings and the stories behind the songs, told by the people who knew her best.

It is a birthday celebration, not a memorial service: an evening built the way Kashia built everything with music at the centre and everyone welcomed.

This year will be the first concert in what will become an annual tradition, a night that is equal parts celebration, tribute and statement. Expect Kashia's originals reimagined across styles and voices, her final song "Re-writing" honoured on stage, and a room full of the people and community she loved.

All proceeds support the Kashia Faumui Foundation's programs changing how Australia understands, treats and protects people living with severe mental illness.

Kashia Faumui Memorial Day: "No One Plays Alone"

Kashia Faumui Memorial Day 2026.jpeg

In Partnership with Tuggeranong United Football Club & Lifeline Canberra, our community came together on the pitch for the Kashia Faumui Memorial Day, standing alongside Tuggeranong United Football Club to honour Kashia’s passion for football, team spirit, and camaraderie.

The grounds were filled with teammates, family members, friends, and supporters rallying under the powerful reminder that no one plays alone.  The day brought competitive energy and community warmth across a full slate of matches:

NPL Girls vs. Tigers: U14s, U16s, and U18s matches throughout the morning.
Community League Women: Division 6 vs. South Canberra FC and Division 4 vs. Belwest Foxes Soccer Club Inc.
Community Barbecue & Gathering: Sideline supporters and players gathered over a sausage sizzle to share stories and supporting one another.

Community Impact & Support
In keeping with Kashia’s spirit of care and connection, all funds raised throughout the day were dedicated directly to Lifeline Canberra to support vital crisis intervention services, mental health resources, and family support systems throughout the region.

A special thank you to Amanda Crawford and the Tuggeranong United Football Club Board for this initiative and for remembering our Kashia in this way.
